The weather was lousy last Friday. Lots of urban folk in the Klang valley must be tormented by such irregular weather and humidity. The tormenting is not only translating onto the streets but also the fishing. Angling in unpredictable weather tends to provide unusual and unyielding results.
Quite some time ago we featured an under construction site USJ Heights. We paid a visit on friday and were delightfully suprised. The previously restrictive area now has opened up and yes its a delightful water feature!
This is a flood water collection pond.
The water is horrendous but so inviting. If you’re just fishing for fun. This is one place to check out.
If you’re planning to eat these fish. Do so at your own risk. The world can use one less dolt.
Fishing knows no prejudice. Anyone can fish. Old or young; slim or burly; dark or fair. In this case its this dark, middle-aged and burly gentleman who put my tech to shame (not so high tech as a matter of fact).
This guy’s setup dates back to the cradle of civilization. He was using a twig, some line and a hook. No reel, no bails, heck not even a swivel. His knots were horrendous to be frank. Presentation is not his forte.
Yet he caught more fish than me.
Here’s one that he caught. Biggest tilapia so far I’ve seen in Taman Aman.
this abang is terror.
First and foremost I would like to express my gratitude to a Mr. Nafeez for joining me here today. Nafeez you have opened my eyes to a whole new way to fishing and i very much appreciate it. Looking forward to having more fishing adventures with you.
Coarse Fishing Malaysia
Fish Valley, situated in the more inner parts of the Kajang area is a place that has come very far in the past decade or so. I must compliment the owner or management who have been curating this place as it has improved by leaps and bounds.
I visited this place quite some time ago and to be honest it was a mine in the middle of the jungle back then. Getting to the restaurant would require the use of a land rover. In that time, the place only had a restaurant that was run by siamese cooks. So the story goes. I do stand to be corrected on that part. (Also this place used to be on stilts)
What i remember the most from that dinner i had here was some very good tilapia. Seeing the place today I can appreciate the determination of the proprietors. Its almost very difficult to achieve a place that offers wholesome outdoor family fun with such great attention to cleanliness.
Situated in right next to the PKNS field in Kelana Jaya this place is no stranger to the urban angler of Malaysia. Initially a floodwater collection centre this lake is now the habitat of a variety of water birds and fish.
Easily accessed as it is right next to the LDP, this place sees a good number of anglers daily. With good walkways tree shade around the lake it is very comfortable to fish here during the day. Cleanliness is also a big plus here.
