Where to fish in Malaysia / Shah Alam / Jalan Batu Arang

This place is close to Cahaya SPK. One of the earlier places we posted here.

In the map it shows one lake, in actual fact there are two lakes right opposite to one another.

This place is situated right after a big building that reads “Universiti Teknologi Mara” at the cross junction. Very difficult to miss in broad day light.  There is ample amount of parking on the shoulder of the roads so you don’t need to park in the emergency lane.

Batu lake is located in the industrial area that is opposite of Batu Caves. Turn into the junction before the roundabout where the tyre shops are. Just before the traffic  lights that lead to to the Komuter station.

Where to fish in Malaysia / Selangor / Intan Baiduri PPR lake. A hidden gem underneath the rubbish and all.

This place is situated on the road to Batu Caves from Bandar Utama. Right before the roundabout. On the lefthand side.

First Impressions. This lake has a lot of rubbish in it. Water at the entrance is covered with algae and a lot of plastics floating around. Truly the ugly side of Malaysia. People here are litterbugs.

Where to fish in Malaysia / Selangor / Ulu Yam Preview

Being an angler in a city quite far away from the coast is quite the predicament. Sometimes, we yearn for some sort of wild angling adventure without the experience of going really out of the way to do so. I personally in many instances would like to be able to angle in the untamed waters and yet be able to head back to the family come sun down. Half an hours drive from home.

I think i have solved this issue.

The place in question is none other than the Ulu Yam reservoir. It is massive, it is wild and most importantly: Half an hour away from anywhere in the city. It is the most feral body of water that I have come across so far in the Klang Valley. I think one would need some serious survival gear if they were to venture in more deeper.
